SUPREME PRO WRESTLING
SPW DECEMBER SHOW 12/20/2015
Live at The SPW ARENA in Sacramento.

By Mike Vanek

My alarm is buzzing in my ear and I fall out of bed after maybe four hours sleep after the metal show I worked the night before. After a quick shower I'm in business and walking downtown to catch a bus to Ceres and then a walk across town to catch a ride to Sacramento.

Today is a important day for me and it involves wrestling. After 10+ years of having friends in the wrestling community there has been a couple shows I've been dying to attend and today I got to go to SPW in Sacramento. People have been telling me for years you have to go see SPW!! But finally I hitched a ride and here it was I saw...

Supreme Pro Wrestling has been long known as one of the top promotions in the Nor Cal wrestling scene. These people work really hard each month to turn a gym in a church an amazing place where the magic if independent wrestling changes people's lives. This is the most passionate group of people I have ever met. SPW is a family and on this night this family put on one of the most entertaining shows I've ever seen...

On this evening the television show "Beyond Geek" a PBS program that observes different sub cultures was there filming for a upcoming episode.
The first match was set up for the episode which featured Sir Samurai and Christina Von Eerie vs Dan The Teacher Man Reynoso & His Pupil Britney The Bookworm.

This match was over the top!! They really played it up for TV and executed an awesome match which included the massacre of a Ray Bradbury classic book.

CHECK YOUR LOCAL LISTINGS FOR BEYOND GEEK ON YOUR LOCAL PBS STATIONS!!! We will post when the episode airs!!!

The 2nd match was a 2 on 1 handicap match featuring the monstrous J.R. Kratos vs The Freaks T Lo & Johnny Yen with their Psycotic Manager "Chatterbox".
This 2 on 1 handicap match pitted the demented tandem of T Lo & Johnny with their demented manager "Chatter Box" screeching along at Ringside against one of the most popular wrestlers in Nor Cal J.R. Kratos.
This was my first time seeing J.R. Kratos wrestle but I have heard about him for the past couple years and he was featured recently on FOX40 News recently for helping out a young youth in the area with is awesome in its own right.
Although the freaks put up up a hell of a fight in a 2 vs 1 situation J.R. Kratos overcame the odds to take the victory.
Which led to SPW legend El Flaco Loco came to the ring and pleaded his case for J.R. Kratos to be SPW Heavyweight champion. This led to GM Mike Miller came to the ring and told Mr Kratos that he would get a title shot but he wouldn't say when.

The 3rd match was Joe Desoul Vs Ethan White. This match put Ethan White vs a very cocky Joe Desoul who had a huge crowd response from the SPW faithful.
This match went back and fourth with some awesome wrestling UNTILL the match ended in a dq with Joe Desoul losing the match.

The 4th match was a gigantic tag team match!!! With James & Christina Von Eerie, Bobby Hart & Mike Mathews, Big Ugly J.D. Bishop & Former ECW Superstar Mustafa Saed, Will Roberts & Truex in a Tag Team Xtreme Turmoil match!!
With the man that makes the winning pin to return in January to face Xtreme champion Mike Hayashi for the title!!
This was a 8 car pile up of a match with some of the most Intense action I have ever seen consisting of high impact moves such as JD Bishop's heavy chops to GFW Women's champ Christina Von Eerie that could be heard out side or Bobby Hart's perfectly executed German SUPLEX or Will Roberts mind blowing drop kick to Bobby Harts head were all examples of why this was one of the most brutal matches of the night!!
With Big Ugly JD Bishop getting the win he will return to face the Xtreme champion Mike Hayashi at the next show!!

The 5th match was another all out brawl between two of the biggest all out rivals in the Nor Cal Wrestling scene...
Virgil Flynn took on Daniel Torch in a whirlwind of a match that continued this bitter rivalry that just seems to get more and more brutal as time goes on!!
Blow after blow and move after move these two warriors damn near killed each other in action so fast it was hard for my camera to catch more than a blur.
After brutalizing each other for the entire match Torch decided he had enough and he bailed out the back door to a Halestorm of boo's and chants from the SPW faithful for the count out making Virgil the Winner but I seriously doubt the feud is over!!

Match 6 was the highly talented Airen Skye vs Mike Hayashi the Xtreme Champion.
Extreme dosnt even begin to describe the all out battle of this match for the SPW Extreme title!!
Mike Hayashi pulled out all the stops against this up and coming high flyer in Airen Skye who took all the punishment he could but Mike Hayashi held on to the belt to face Big Ugly J.D. Bishop at the next show in January.

Match 7 was for the SPW Tag Team Titles. The Beautiful People defended the belts vs (My favorite tag team) The Honor Society, Sir Samurai & Drake Frost!!
Featuring "Wrestling Personified" Rik Luxery these guys took on one of the most successful tag teams in the Nor Cal area.
The Honor Society looked to add the SPW tag team titles to their impressive list of tag team titles but came short this time as the beautiful people carried on as tag team champs thanks to a blow with a tag team belt in a brawl for it all that will not be forgotten any time soon!!

The 8th and final match was the main event of the evening!! This pitted local favorite Scoot Robertson going for the SPW Heavyweight title against against the Smug and vicious SPW Champ Brian Tannen.
Tannen who recently spent 2 years in the WWE developmental system came out as cocky and brash as can be as the champion against the fan favorite Scoot!!
Poor scoot put up as much fight as he could but the brutal force of Brian Tannen was just too much for him as he was beaten so bad that several wrestlers had to come save Scoot from the back as Tannen ravaged him after his victory thus ending a extraordinary show!!

I can't believe it took me 10 years to come to a SPW show but it won't be my last and you can count on that!!
